Working Towards AS9100 and ISO 14001 Certification

As a contract electronics manufacturer, quality has always underpinned how we operate. With a well-established quality management system and a strong track record of ISO 9001 compliance, we are now taking the next step.

We are working towards AS9100 certification, while also implementing an ISO 14001 environmental management system. Together, these standards strengthen how we manage quality, risk and environmental impact across our operations.

What is AS9100 and ISO 14001

AS9100 is a recognised quality standard for the aviation, space and defence sectors. It builds on ISO 9001 with additional requirements around risk management, traceability and supply chain control.

ISO 14001 focuses on environmental management. It provides a structured framework for managing environmental impact, including energy use, waste and emissions.

Our approach

We approached AS9100 with a clear understanding of what needed to change. Working alongside an experienced consultant, we carried out a detailed gap analysis to identify where our existing systems required strengthening. From there, we have been working through those improvements in a structured way.

At the same time, we have introduced our ISO 14001 framework. This has involved reviewing our environmental impact, setting measurable objectives, and putting processes in place to manage waste, energy consumption and emissions more effectively.

Throughout both projects, we have kept customers and stakeholders informed. Their input has helped ensure the changes we are making align with wider supply chain requirements.

What this means for our customers

Working towards these standards is not about certification alone. It is about improving how we operate day to day.

From a quality perspective, this means stronger consistency across builds, clearer traceability, better risk control and improved visibility across the supply chain.

From an environmental perspective, it means tighter control of resource use, reduced waste and a more structured approach to compliance.

These changes support more reliable delivery and give customers greater confidence in how their products are manufactured.

Looking ahead

Progress is well underway across both AS9100 and ISO 14001. This is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen how we operate.

We will continue to refine our systems as we move through the process and share further updates as we reach key milestones.
